Participants will apply with a development project, which they would like to thoroughly plan and promote in their home institutions during the course of THEA Ukraine. The implementation can start during the course of the training and continue after THEA. All workshops, but especially the online-coaching phases, will guide the process of project implementation in the participants' home institutions. Two cohorts of 16 participants will have the opportunity to take part in the programme. For each cohort, THEA Ukraine will comprise three training workshops either online or in Münster, Germany, and two online coaching phases. Participants will receive a certificate of achievement of FH Münster.

Contents of the Workshop

  • introduction of trainers, participants, programme and mode of work
  • introduction of the online learning platform
  • Higher education systems in Ukraine and Germany
  • internationalisation as a strategic field of action in Higher Education Institutions
  • the European Higher Education Area and the idea of Bologna
  • basics of project management
  • work on own projects

Expected Learning Outcomes

After completion of the workshop, participants are expected to be able to ...

  • explain structures and specialties of the Higher Education Systems in Ukraine and Germany. This will help them to evaluate all information given in the programme against the background of similarities and differences between the educational systems.
  • take into consideration the principles of the Bologna declaration and the strategic planning of their home institution for their own activities.
  • analyse the circumstances and requirements for the implementation of their planned projects with the help of respective project management tools.
  • plan their projects in a way that increases the probability of project success.

After the first workshop, the participants will analyse the current status of internationality and internationalisation at their university. This will help them to assess the framework conditions and feasibility of their project and to plan project steps and communication flows respectively.

On this basis, participants will develop a project sketch and a project action plan (PAP).

During the online coaching phase, participants will be supported by their fellow participants and FH Münster's trainers team.

  • structure and workflows of international offices - case studies
  • international study programmes and their accreditation
  • work on own projects

Expected Learning Outcomes:

After completion of the workshop, participants are expected to be able to ...

  • describe differences between international offices (IOs) in Higher Education Institutions with regard to their structure and work portfolio.
  • discuss chances and limitations of the work of IOs (regarding interfaces, cooperation with external actors etc.).
  • analyse potential for improvement and develop ideas for service portfolios, strategies and processes.
  • support the development of international study programmes at their own institutions by respecting the principles of the Bologna declaration and the requirements for accreditations.
  • support the quality assurance and quality enhancement processes as well as accreditations of joint programmes (joint and double degree study programmes).

Inbetween workshops two and three, participants will present their project plan to relevant actors in their home institutions to discuss further steps and start to implement their projects.

During the online coaching phase participants will receive consultation from their peers and FH Münster's trainers team.

The consultation phase will be documented by the participants and serve as a basis for workshop 3.

  • basics of (digital) process managemnt in Higher Education Institutions
  • presentation of the results of the project planning and implementation phase
  • proposal writing
  • establishment of a professional network
  • awarding of certificates

Expected Learning Outcomes:

After completion of the workshop, participants are expected to ...

  • explain basic concepts of change management and use respective strategies to implement change project at their own institutions.
  • explain basic concepts of process management and use them in their institutions.
  • develop structured process chains by using flow charts.
  • promote their own projects on the basis of a thoroughly planned project plan.
  • improve their proposal writing skills on the basis of the basic skills acquired in the workshop.
  • if participants jointly agree: stay in contact with their fellow participants in order to form and maintain a professional network for international education in Ukraine and beyond.
