The first International Autumn School on Quality Management in Higher Education at FH Münster will give a fundamental overview of elements and processes of quality management in Higher Education Institutions.
Topics dealt with comprise:
- underlying principles and models of quality management
- basics of evaluation research
- process management
- project management as key competence of quality managers
- communication about quality-related topics
- strategic management and quality management
- change management
We will use case studies, group works and live demonstrations to facilitate the qualification process of the participants. The Autumn School will provide ample room for discussion against the background of your own organisational contexts and forms an excellent platform for networking with colleagues from all over the world.
After your successful participation, you will receive a certificate to document your efforts.
Registration and Certificate
The International Autumn School on Quality Management in Higher Education addresses quality assurance officers, leadership personnel as well as administrative staff from Higher Education Institutions worldwide.
The participation is limited to 20 persons in order to ensure a conducive atmosphere for discussion and networking.
A good level of English language skills is required, because the Autumn School will be held in English. No German language skills are required for participation.
A certificate will be issued after completion of the Autumn School. There will be no assessment.
Registration deadline is 1st August 2019. An early-bird registration for a reduced fee expired on 31st May 2019.

The fee covers all training sessions, training material, certificate, lunch and tea breaks during session. The fee does not cover travel and accomodation in Münster. After your application, you will receive a confirmation e-mail giving you information on how to pay your fee.
We offer to book your accomodation for you and have reserved room contingents from 6th to 11th October in two different hotels close to the Autumn School's venue:
- Hotel Jellentrup: standard, family-led hotel, 500 meters from the venue; 440 €.
- H4 Hotel: modern business hotel in the city centre, 2 km from the venue; 710 €.
If you want us to book your accommodation, please let us know with your registration. Please note that this option will be available until August 1st (registration deadline). If this option is not suitable for you, you should start looking for accommodation as soon as possible. There is a variety of choices for accomodation around the city centre of Münster.

You are obliged to have an appropriate health insurance while staying in Germany. For your visa, documentary evidence will be required of a health insurance, with minimal coverage of 30.000 €. We strongly recommend to taking out appropriate liability insurance as well. Citizens of the EU who plan on staying in Germany temporarily can apply for the EU Health Insurance Card in their home country. This card gives you the same health insurance benefits as German citizens. Please note that you are not insured by FH Münster - University of Applied Sciences.
Whether you need a visa depends on your nationality. If you are a resident of the EU/EEA and return home within 90 days of arrival, you do not need a visa to enter Germany. The same applies to some 40 additional nationalities. Please check with the German Federal Foreign Office if you need a visa. Since the visa application process can take some time, you are encouraged to start the process as soon as possible.
Transport to Münster is to be organised and paid by the participant. The closest airports to Münster are International Airport Münster/Osnabrück (FMO, approx. 2,5 hrs by train), Düsseldorf Airport (DUS, 2,5 hrs by train) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA, approx. 3,5 hrs by train). From the airports, you can travel by bus (FMO) or train (DUS, FRA) to Münster. Please check www.bahn.de for your travel.
