Completion time:
A good application may take between two hours and a week of your time, depending on how well prepared you are and what still needs to be considered.
Your written application
Besides matching the job advert, your application must be convincing, comprehensible, individual and correct. This means:
Good match: you are suited to the job, i.e. you meet the requirements.
Motivation: you are interested in the issues and tasks, and can demonstrate your interest using examples.
Comprehensibility: the desired position is the next logical step in your career path.
Individual: your profile is enough to shine through, you do not need to copy any model applications.
Documents: these are formally correctly, easy to read, and are appealingly arranged. For more information, refer to the Manual "Starke Bewerbung" (Strong application guide), available for download.
Your interview
If you have been invited for interview - congratulations! You now have the chance to impress your potential future employer in person. Two points are particularly important at this stage:
Your pitch: this is your individual response to questions such as: "Why have you applied to our company? Why should we employ you? Tell us a bit about yourself." It is up to you to provide the reasons.
Questions the employer may ask: there are lots of "classic" questions that may be asked during an interview. Prepare your answers thoroughly. For more information, refer to the "Überzeugen im Bewerbungsgespräch" (How to impress the interviewer) guide, available for download.
