What is it?
Zotero is a plug-in for Firefox. In the meantime, this plug-in has been extended by an additional programme (Zotero Standalone), with the help of which Zotero can also be used in Google Chrome and Safari.

As a plug-in, Zotero is strictly speaking not an additional programme that has to be installed, but the data is taken directly from the browser through which the search is carried out.
