DEUTSCH

Gain twice as much practical experience in your studies and actively shape the future. You are looking for
renewable energies, plus business studies - that's what you get with the dual bachelor's degree program in
of energy technology.

Industrial engineers score points twice over: they develop sustainable solutions to ensure the supply of electricity and heat that can be
electricity and heat that are economically viable at the same time. That is why they are the interface between engineers and business economists in a company. You will also know how to solve a technical problem and at the same time be familiar with business administration.

With the dual study program, you complete a full study program and work in longer practical phases in a company with which you conclude a practical contract. The special feature of the dual study program is that there is no need for additional vocational training.

As a graduate of the dual study program, you will play an active role in shaping our future.

Structure of the studies

The dual business degree program in energy and environmental engineering is divided into three phases:

Before study

Before applying to Münster UAS, you will conclude a study contract with a company.

The faculty will be happy to support you in selecting a suitable company. Please contact the dean's office. egufh-muensterde

In the study contract you make the individual arrangements with regard to remuneration, learning times at the university, practical phases in the company as well as vacation days.

1. Basic studies

1st and 2nd semester: Basics

  • mathematical-scientific: math, chemistry, physics

  • economics: general business studies, financing, controlling, marketing

  • engineering: technical engineering, thermodynamics, basics of applied biology, etc.

2. Advanced studies

3rd to 5th semester: Specialization in energy and environmental technology

  • economics: marketing, business management, communication, human resources, project management, etc.
  • engineering: urban hydrology, water supply, solar, water and wind energy, power plant construction, etc.

3. Practical semester and graduation

7th semester: Practical semester and bachelor thesis.

From the 7th semester onwards, you will gain practical experience during a minimum 20-week practical semester or semester abroad.

After that you will write your bachelor thesis.

And after successful completion, you will be awarded the academic degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) as an engineer in energy or environmental technology.

How to study

Energy engineering, building services and environmental engineering build on common foundations and pursue the same goal: the sustainable and efficient use of our resources.

That's why the dual bachelor's degree programs are interlinked.

Your studies are...

Interdisciplinary

  • interdisciplinary: Energy and environmental technology is in mutual exchange with building technology. Therefore, the structure of the program offers our students the opportunity to look beyond their own horizons. They not only learn to understand complex technical systems, but also to think interdisciplinary.
  • practice-oriented: We train for practice. Many laboratory internships and excursions ensure that you do not lose sight of the application of your knowledge.
  • networked and international: We are constantly working on cooperations with companies and universities. So you can expand your knowledge through practical training or a semester at another university - even abroad.
  • strong in research and knowledge transfer: Our students have their finger on the pulse because they benefit from the knowledge gained from our research projects. We develop application-oriented solutions to current problems.
  • flexibel: Your interests define the field in which you specialize according to the basics - you become an industrial engineer in energy and environmental technology. And you decide whether you want to complete your studies in seven or six semesters, i.e. with a practical phase or a practical/foreign semester.

Practice-oriented

We train for practice. Many lab practicals and field trips ensure that you do not lose sight of the application of your knowledge.

Networked and international

We are constantly working on cooperations with companies and universities. This way, you can expand your knowledge through practical time or a semester at another university - even abroad.

Strength in research and transfer

Our students have their finger on the pulse because they benefit from the knowledge gained from our research projects. We develop application-oriented solutions to current problems.

You visit...

Lectures

The necessary theoretical basics will be presented and explained.

Exercises

Case studies and assignments specifically prepare you for exams and practice.

Internships

In our laboratories and test halls, practice-oriented knowledge is imparted within the framework of field trials.

Excursions

They participate in exciting and educational field trips to various building-specific facilities.

Prerequisites

There are some prerequisites for taking up a dual business degree in energy and environmental technology:

.

University entrance qualification

In addition to the study contract with the company, you should have the Abitur or Fachabitur.

Master craftswomen, master craftsmen and comparably qualified also have the opportunity to study at university, but some prerequisites must be met. In this case, feel free to contact us and arrange a consultation appointment.

Pre-internship

As a prerequisite for the program, you must have completed a 4-week internship. This should be in a technical or predominantly technical field. The internship must be proven by the beginning of the third semester.

.

If you have completed vocational training, this can be recognized instead. You can also find out which professions are eligible for this in the file below.

And after the bachelor's degree?

Master

As a Bachelor of Engineering, you have the option of pursuing an advanced Master's degree.

The EGU department also offers you four different master's degree programs to go with it.

Career prospects

The demand for industrial engineers in energy engineering and environmental engineering is growing steadily. There is a demand on the labor market for specialists and managers who are technically fit and can also assess issues in larger contexts. Our engineers are ideally suited for this thanks to their prior technical and scientific knowledge and strong business training. Career prospects and pay are above average, and companies often recruit our graduates even before they have completed their studies.

Economic engineers in energy and environmental technology work, for example, for energy supply companies for electricity, gas or water, as well as for municipalities and public utilities. They are all looking for industrial engineers who are able to assess issues in larger contexts.
