Goals
With this degree course, you will acquire skills in technology, digitalization and management that will enable you to plan and implement the smart infrastructure of buildings. You will understand the energy, information and material flows in buildings and be able to design, analyze and advise on complex technical solutions.

Occupational fields
Most of our graduates work in planning offices and for industrial companies that produce components and systems. They also work as clients for public employers, as consultants or as experts.

Career
Typical first career positions include project management and work as a planner or consultant. Many graduates also have leadership roles in technical management or work in research and development. The Master's degree fulfills the formal requirement for a doctorate and enables access to the higher civil service with public employers.

The course is organized as a part-time course, which allows you to work one to two days a week on average. It can be started in the summer or winter term and comprises four terms, divided into three terms of study and one term for the Master's thesis. Lectures are usually held in person.

Study prerequisites

Bachelor's or diploma degree
You must have a first professionally qualifying university degree in a technical, engineering or predominantly engineering degree program in the field of energy technologies, building services or environmental engineering or related fields with an overall grade of at least "good" (2.5).

Proof of practical experience
You need proof of practical work (practical phase) of at least 12 weeks' duration, which has already familiarized you with relevant technical tasks. This proof can also come from the practical phase of your Bachelor's or Diplom degree course or from a previous professional activity.

Application

You can apply from November 14 for the upcoming summer semester 2024.
You can apply for a study place even if you do not yet have your Bachelor's degree certificate.
If you start your studies in the summer semester, you must provide proof of your Bachelor's grade by April 30.
If you start your studies in the winter semester, you must provide proof of your Bachelor's grade by November 30.
