DEUTSCH

Requirements

A prerequisite for acceptance to the programme or for the continuation of studies is an undergraduate degree in Engineering or the Natural Sciences with an overall grade of "good" (2.5) or better.

The degree programme

For four semesters of the three-year part-time degree programme, you will study half the modules of a full-time programme. One of the six semesters (a winter semester) is a full-time semester. If you start in the winter, this will be your fifth semester; if you start in the summer, it will be your fourth semester.

Course sequence

In general and subject-specific compulsory modules, you will broaden your foundation of technical as well as social skills. The wide range of compulsory elective modules enables you to gain further qualifications according to your personal preference or based on the demands of your current occupational field. No precise direction is set in stone at the beginning, meaning that you smoothly shift between research, application, theory and practice, without being bound to a certain sector of the economy.

Objectives

  • Better career opportunities, enhanced knowledge and experience
  • Specialisation via in-depth study
  • A strong basis for working in industry and research
  • A foundation for possible future doctoral study

Occupational fields

The thematic range of the Master's degree programme in Computer Science integrates students' previous occupational fields and prepares them for new challenges independent of any specific sector of the economy.

Thanks to the programme's balance of theory and practice, this Master's degree programme further develops your knowledge in your previous occupational field, giving you the skills to work in industry, at a university, in public administration, or even in the financial service industry, and prepares you for new challenges in any employment sector where computer scientists pursue their trade.
