In the module "Renewable Energy Systems", a broad overview of the different forms of regenerative energy supply from solar thermal energy to hydropower and geothermal energy systems is given for the main topic "Regenerative Energies". The module is motivated at the beginning with short overviews on the topics of climate change, scarcity of resources (especially "peak oil"), environmental protection and sustainability - social and economic consequences as well as ethical aspects are touched upon. Furthermore, topic-specific physical knowledge (e.g. thermodynamics, semiconductor physics, ...) is repeated and deepened.
General knowledge of physics and chemistry is assumed.
