Registration for a lab class is only possible in the specified registration phase via the myFH portal. Make it clear beforehand which lab classes you would like to take part in. The curriculum for your degree program will give you a good direction for this.

The type of registration differs roughly between lab classes in the Bachelor and in the Master.

Registration for lab classes planned in advance (especially in the Bachelor)

Most of the compulsory lab classes in the Bachelor's degree are planned in advance. This means that at the time of registration there are already groups with a time schedule (e.g. every two weeks on Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. or every four weeks on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon). For such lab classes, you register directly for the lab class group in which you want to participate. This gives you the opportunity to schedule your semester yourself. The following instructions must be observed.

  • You must make sure yourself that the group you wish to register for does not clash with another event (e.g. another lab class).
  • It may be necessary to move you to another group afterwards (e.g. to balance the group sizes). Therefore, check your group assignment before the start of the lecture period (freshmen before the start of the second week of lectures).
  • Groups have a maximum number of participants. If one group is full, you will have to choose another.
  • If it should happen during the registration period that all groups of a practical course are full or the only groups you could participate in time-wise without collision are full, please contact (preferably by e-mail) Timo Völker.

Registration for lab classes scheduled at a later date (especially in the master's program)

Most lab classes in the master's program and some lab classes in the bachelor's program are not planned in advance. Instead, scheduling takes place only at the beginning of the lecture period (usually in consultation with the participants). In such a lab class there are no different groups. Instead, there is only one "collective group" without scheduling, for which you have to register. As far as you do not have any other information about the scheduling of the lab class, you can schedule your other events of the semester independently.

Note

You can find a lot of information about the lab classes in the myFH portal. In addition, further details (e.g. division into teams) are often published on the pages of the respective laboratory or the ILIAS course on the lab class.
