The graduated Bachelor / Master studies at the MSA

The study at the MSA qualifies after 10 semesters of study duration according to its accreditation internationally to the protected occupation of the architect according to the UNESCO / UIA standards. The master's degree qualifies for the higher service and entitles the graduate to further doctoral studies. Thus, the BA / MA study program at the MSA differs substantially from eight-semester short study programs, which are sufficient for a bachelor's degree with a bachelor's degree, but are not internationally recognized under the UIA. Msa attaches importance to a five-year BA / MA degree program with additional internships that meets the international UNESCO / UIA standards.

Highlights of the Master's program at the MSA

A special feature of the Master's program at the MSA is the introduction of integrated short modules in the first semester, which are offered especially for our students at outstanding European universities such as Barcelona, Delft, Krakow, Prague and Venice. In addition, renowned, internationally active architects act as guest lecturers for these modules at msa. These included, for example, Roman Delugan (Delugan Meissl Architects, Vienna), Holger Kehne (Plasma Studio Architects, London), Tristan Kobler (Holzer Kobler Architectures, Zurich), and Volker Staab (Volker Staab Architects, Berlin). Here, students can experience the different methodologies of different architectural philosophies and thus find a personal relationship to architecture for their further studies.

The master's thesis at MSA

The MSA sees in the individual personal task and accompaniment of the final one-semester Thesis work an important quality factor of their teaching. A high level of student self-determination is guaranteed by the free choice of supervising teachers and the respective specialization.
In the past, MSA students received high-ranking awards for their theses, such as the Foundation Prize of the German Architects Foundation and the Taut Prize, the most highly endowed scholarship of the Federal Chamber of Architects.
