The Equality Committee was formed to advise and support the Head Equal Opportunities Officer as well as the university's institutions, bodies and officials.
Its duties specifically include monitoring the establishment of and compliance with equality plans.
The members of the Equality Committee are elected individually from different groups of university members.
Members of the Equality Committee are elected for a period of four years; student members are elected for a period of one year. Members can be reelected.
Members of the gender-balanced Equality Committee consist of:
- Two members from the professors group.
- Two members from the teaching assistants group.
- Two members from the technical and administrative staff group.
- Two members from the students group.
The Head Equal Opportunities Officer and deputies are members of the Equality Committee but cannot vote on motions.
The Equality Committee is chaired by the Head Equal Opportunities Officer.
