Friday September 25th: Organizational regulations for operation from September 25th

The Presidential Board of our university has announced corona-related regulations for FH Münster, which will apply until further notice.

Behaviour in case of illness or suspected infection

Since there are more and more questions in connection with reports of quarantine orders due to the coronavirus, we would like to give you a summary of possible cases and the steps to be taken. These steps result from legal regulations, in particular the Infection Protection Act and secondary obligations under labour/service law:

Case A: You are not infected yourself, but have received a quarantine order from the health authorities

This usually occurs if you are considered a Category I contact person (Category I definition).

  1. You log off from your manager and
  2. inform the Personnel Department. You must submit a complete copy of the letter from the Health Department.
  3. You are released from work for the duration of the quarantine order. You will continue to have your salary/remuneration paid by Münster University of Applied Sciences. For technical and administrative staff only: The reason for absence "Q" will be entered in your working time account by the Human Resources Department.
  4. Before you resume your work, you need a "release" from the public health department. This is apparently done partly in writing and partly by telephone. In any case, you must report "healthy" to the Personnel Department and - if available - submit the cancellation order of the Health Office.

Case B - Variant a): You are infected yourself, but you have no symptoms and have no certificate of incapacity to work

  1. You log out to your supervisor and
  2. inform the Personnel Department. You must submit a complete copy of the letter from the Health Department.
  3. You are released from work for the time specified by the Health Department in its letter. You will continue to receive your salary/salary from Münster University of Applied Sciences. Only for employees: the reason for absence "Q" will be entered in your working time account by the Human Resources Department.
  4. Before you can resume your work, you need a "release" from the public health department. Apparently this is done partly in writing and partly by telephone. In any case, you must report "healthy" to the Personnel Department and - if available - submit the cancellation order of the Health Office.

Case B - variant b): You are infected and have symptoms (i.e. you are ill) and have consulted a doctor who has written to you that you are unfit for work

  1. You report to your supervisor sick and
  2. inform the Personnel Department. You must submit a complete copy of the letter from the Health Department and the certificate of incapacity for work ("yellow slip") or certificate of incapacity for work.
  3. You will also receive your salary/remuneration in accordance with the continued payment periods (as for any other illness). The Personnel Department will enter the reason for absence "K" in your working time account (all employees).
  4. Before you can resume work, you need a "release" from the Health Department. This is apparently done partly in writing and partly by telephone. In any case, you must report "healthy" to the Personnel Department and - if available - the cancellation orders.

Case C - variant a): You are suspected of a possible infection

You are suspected of having a possible infection because you have respiratory symptoms such as coughing/breathing difficulties (unless the doctor has clarified the illness, e.g. an allergy) and/or fever. In general you are not allowed to stay at Münster University of Applied Sciences and have to stay at home. You should report sick to your supervisor.

Provided that your symptoms do not affect you too much, you can of course also work in the home office. You should immediately contact a doctor or the public health department by phone for clarification.

Case C - variant b): You are suspected of having a possible infection, e.g. because you are a Category II contact person.

You are suspected of having a possible infection, e.g. because you are a Category II contact person.

If possible, work in the home office in consultation with your supervisor. If home office is not possible, you may also work at Münster University of Applied Sciences.

We would like to point out that for data protection reasons Münster University of Applied Sciences does not investigate or prosecute contact persons of a Covid-19 infected person. This task is exclusively reserved for the regulatory authorities.
