iSuN Evaluates In Form Project

The iSun is currently evaluating the project "Acceptance of Sustainable Nutrition through Consumer Education - Developing Supportive Structures for Secondary Schools" as part of the initiative "In Form" of the Federal Ministries for Food and Agriculture and of Health. Contracting entity is the Network Unit for Daycare and School Catering Berlin. The project is based on the usage of ecological and regional vegetable subscription boxes in integrated secondary schools. Participating classes have a set budget with which they can freely assemble their boxes. The delivered food is cooked together in teaching kitchens. The didactic support during the practical approach ensures the development of a solid knowledge base for the students. For the evaluation, we chose a variety of methods: in addition to conventional formats like expert interviews and teacher surveys, we also examine what students - being the actual target group - have learned using a quiz with practical orientation. The project ends at the end of 2020.
