Information about the application
You can apply online at the end of February 2020 for the summer semester 2020 (start 29.2. 2020).
The application for the winter semester 2021 starts in May 2021 (until mid-August).
This is an admission-free course of study without NC.
Please note the following deadlines for the one-year work experience: 30.04. for an application in the summer semester, 31.10. for an application in the winter semester. Together with the registration documents requested by the Service Office (copy of the certificate, health insurance, etc.), a certificate of professional activity must also be enclosed. The employer's certificate must state the exact period of employment, the activity and the weekly working hours. Employment contracts are not suitable as evidence, as it is not clear whether the employment contract still exists or how long it has existed.
A Bachelor's degree with 180 credits is sufficient for the application.
Access requirements
A qualified first degree in the field of industrial engineering or a comparable combination of technical, scientific and business studies with an overall grade of at least 3.0 at a state or state-recognized university.
You can be admitted if, for example, you have successfully completed one of the following courses of study: Industrial Engineering and Management, Design and Project Management, Business Chemistry, Business Information Technology, Business Mathematics, Business Physics, Business Geography.
In addition, proof of at least one year of relevant professional activity after the first professionally qualifying university degree must be provided. Deadlines for the one-year work experience are the end of October for studies beginning in the winter semester and the end of April for the summer semester.
The study programme
Through your previous studies and professional experience you already have a great deal of specialist knowledge. The Master's programme builds on this. You will learn scientific methods for the solving of complex application-oriented problems. The skills acquired in the course of your studies will qualify you to take on management tasks.
The study contents are initially developed in self-study, supported by didactically prepared learning material. This allows you to plan your learning time flexibly. In order to deepen your specialist and methodological knowledge, there are additional on-site courses on Saturdays (and occasionally on Friday afternoons) during the semester. There, the theoretical contents are deepened in exercises and case studies in a practice-oriented way.
The exams are held in the form of "strong" papers and "strong" exams (approx. 50% each). Homeworks are written in time to the exercises, exams in the exam period before the beginning of the new semester.
During the course of your studies we support you with individual supervision and advice as well as with study-related services such as workshops on time and self-management or on writing your final thesis.
When you have successfully completed all modules, you start with your Master thesis, which usually covers the fifth semester. The award of the "Master of Business Administration and Engineering" is the final step of your studies and opens the way to tasks with management responsibility in the company, a position in the higher service or a career in applied research.
There is also the possibility of starting a doctoral project.

Information on the course of studies
If you start in the winter semester, you will start with the 1st semester, followed by the 2nd, 3rd and finally the 4th semester.
If you start your studies in the summer semester, you enter the 2nd semester, then take the 3rd, 4th and finally the 1st semester.
We recommend that you do not take any electives in the introductory semester so that you can start your studies in a relaxed manner. Electives are abbreviated as "WF" in the schedule overview.
