The supply of drinking water, waste water treatment and the protection of water bodies are all causally related. The tasks of our working group are research and development projects for pollution control and the integration of water bodies within urban areas. Here, the focus is on the management of drainage systems. The following topics are currently being treated:
- Continuous measurement of material parameters using photometry probes for qualitative sewage system management
- Detection of infiltration and faulty discharges in sewage systems by means of fibre-optic temperature measurement
- Development of models to describe material transport processes in urban hydrology
- Continuing rainwater treatment using central and decentralised filtration facilities
