English level: B2

Additional information with regard to an English level of B2

We require a certificate stating a B2 level according to the European reference framework, e.g. a TOEIC-Test of at least 620 points or a TOEFL-Test of at least 87 points internet based or 567 points paper based or equivalent evidence.

We waive any evidence if you obtained your Bachelor degree at the department of Chemical Engineering, University of Applied Sciences Muenster or in an English-langugage degree course or if English is your mother tongue. In any other cases the examination board will decide upon request

The Master degree course is aimed at Bachelor degree graduates with knowledge in Materials Science and Engineering such as Chemistry, Physics and similar Engineering courses. This international Master programme also welcomes students from the EU and Non-EU countries as well as guest students i.e. from ERASMUS programmes.

A basic understanding as well as development and design of new materials is paramount to the course.

Modules

Core modules include solid state physics, polymer science, anorganic material chemistry, characterization of materials via spectroscopic methods or electron microscopy, materials science and nanotechnology. A considerable part of practical training in our laboratories and research projects provide practical teaching from the beginning.

The Master degree course will be offered in English, optional modules may partly be chosen in German. The Master thesis can be completed in our laboratories, research institutes or with industrial partners.

Trial courses Mentoring programmes
There are excellent job prospects within the industry or the possibility for a Phd. The course provides comprehensive knowledge for jobs as development- or test engineer in areas such as mechanical engineering, chemical industry, electrical engineering or the automotive industry. The University of Applied Sciences has excellent co-operations with the industry or Phd partners, so there are possibilities to build up an important network during the studies. Furthermore, there are double degree programmes which enable students to acquire additional degrees during their studies abroad and to qualify for an international job market.
