Our master's degree program deals with photonics in its entire breadth and depth and not just as a specialization. You will receive comprehensive training that will perfectly prepare you for the high demand for experts in industry and public research. The great success of our graduates on the job market speaks for our concept.
We value well-founded training with a strong practical focus. At the beginning of the course, the focus is on the basics, in the second half the applications and development of lasers and other optical systems.
During your studies, you will continually use mathematical methods and computer simulations, so you will feel confident in this area too. There are accompanying internships for almost all lectures. Here you will learn how to use the most modern measurement methods and how to plan and carry out experiments. Some of the internships are organized as projects in which you work on your own small research project. In this way, you will be gradually introduced to independent work in the field of research. You learn non-technical skills such as project management, teamwork or presenting your results in the form of a simulated conference lecture as "training on the job".
We offer you individual support throughout your studies: The groups in the lectures, exercises and internships are small, so that questions can be answered and scientific discussions can be held at any time. Thanks to the diverse research projects in our laboratories, you will find excellent technical equipment for your internships. Our professors have very good contacts in industry, which often result in employment relationships for our graduates.
