12-13 September 2022 Dublin

After almost two years of online collaboration in the Erasmus+ Strategic Alliances Project "Digital Innovation," the project partners gathered for the final transnational project meeting hosted by one of our partners, Momentum, in Dublin, Ireland. Judith Helmer and Nataly Velychko from the S2BMRC travelled to Dublin to present our results in the project and to discuss further issues with regard to the future of the project.

In the first part of the meeting, the partners presented the results of their work. The project's main aim is to support higher education lecturers in developing and implementing improved and up-to-date courses on innovation management - more specifically with regard to digital innovation and service innovation. To achieve this, the S2BMRC team developed the Digital Innovation Audit and a whitepaper on the digital innovation process for services. In addition, we created the Innovation Tools Scanner in collaboration with the team from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and the European E-Learning Institute. This digital platform gives an overview of the best digital innovation tools and makes it easier to find the right ones for an innovation project.

In the second step, the team from the University of Szczecin developed the Digital Innovation Benchmarking Tool. It is an innovative, interactive tool for SMEs to identify their current digitization levels and to compare themselves against the overall and sectoral benchmarks. So far, this database includes more than 300 SMEs.

In the final step, a course for teaching digital innovation for services was developed by the team from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and pilot in all participating universities. Based on the students' and lecturers' feedback, the materials are currently finalised to be made available open access in October.

In the second part of the meeting, the partners discussed the plans for upcoming multiplier events, which will take place until the end of the year, and developed strategies for project dissemination and sustainability.

About the Project

The Digital Innovation is an international collaborative effort of six European partners, including FH Münster University of Applied Sciences (Germany), University Szczecinski (Poland - lead partner), Stichting Hogeschool van Amsterdam (Netherlands), Momentum Marketing Services (Ireland), European Universities Continuing Education Network (Spain), European E-learning Institute (Denmark). This project is co-funded by the European Commission as an "Erasmus+ Strategic Alliances" project.

The objective of Digital Innovation is to understand better how small service companies currently undertake new product development so that we can improve how innovation in services is taught in higher education.
