Science to Business Marketing Research Centre (S2BMRC) PhD candidate Hacer Tercanli participated in the ECSA Conference 2022, which took place from October 5-8 in Berlin, Germany.
Researchers from all disciplines, scientists, practitioners, activists, funders, policymakers, non-governmental organizations, artists, and other interested citizens worldwide reflected, discussed, and networked on the topic of Citizen Science for Planetary Health.
The Erasmus+ project Digital Citizen Science: Network, transfOrm, groW (Citizen Science NOW) was represented by Hacer Tercanli and Josep Perelló of Open Systems research group, at the University of Barcelona. Hacer Tercanli presented the initial results of the project's research phase, that followed Future Foresight methodology to capture emerging trends in the wider citizen participation to science. In her presentation titled "Enhancing diversity and inclusion in Citizen Science - Potential future directions", Hacer Tercanli focused on competence needs of citizens and potential digital capacity building formats that can be offered to both adult citizens as beneficiaries, and public & CSO organizations as CS project providers.
The Citizen Science NOW consortium will be working on developing the mentioned training materials and pilot testing them during the year 2023.
