The new Erasmus+ project "Blockchain Education in the Agrifood Sector" had its kick-off meeting on 14.10.2022, where the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre (S2BMRC) of FH Münster University of Applied Sciences took the research lead. Five different delegates from Slovenska Universita (Slovakia), Momentum Marketing Services (Ireland), Arctur Racunalniskis Inzeniring (Slovenia) and European E-learning Institute (Denmark) participated in the launch of the project in Slovakia. The S2BMRC was represented by our PhD candidate Annika Wesbuer. The meeting was overall very efficient and productive, as great collaboration with new and long-standing partnerships was established. As of October, the first phase of research has started, and in-depth interviews are already planned. We are excited to see the results on this hyped technology "Blockchain". The results will be presented at the next transnational project meeting in Prague.

About the project goal:

Societal challenges require action, especially for a safe and transparent food supply chain in today's world. The Ukraine war has highlighted that the food supply chain requires more transparency and safety. The industry has already recognised the importance of such trust-based digital innovations and that it is essential to implement them in various sectors. However, it is observed that future employees do not know the best practices for such technological implementation. Therefore, it is necessary that students from different sectors learn about the opportunities and potentials. The S2BMRC, as an Erasmus+ project member, aims to identify these opportunities in the agri-food sector and provide a best practice guide for educators.
