PhD candidates from five universities participated in the PhD workshop, which took place in Münster on 9 November during the High-Tech Small Firm (HTSF) conference. The workshop was hosted by the Science to Business Marketing Research Centre of FH Münster University of Applied Sciences. The candidates represented the FH Münster University of Applied Science (Germany), Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands), University of Twente (Netherlands), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Institut Mines-Télécom Business School (France).
The PhD workshop started with a welcoming speech by Acting-Prof. Dr. Sue Rossano-Rivero. Following that a panel discussion was held on the topic of "Life after PhD" involving the academic faculty composed of Prof. Dr. Gideon Maas, Prof. Dr. Peter van der Sijde, Prof. Dr. Ingrid Wakkee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marie Haikel-El-Sabeh, Dr. Sandra Fisher, and Prof. Dr. habil. Thomas Baaken who shared their personal experiences with the PhD candidates.

The PhD workshop concluded with a mock defence of S2BMRC PhD candidate Choi Wai Maggie Chak. She presented her dissertation titled "Towards Highly Performing Community-Academic Health Partnership".
At the end of the workshop, the faculty members awarded Sneha Saha from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the category of "Best PhD Performance Award", and Medisa Fočić from Institut Mines-Télécom Business School in the category of Best PhD Performance Award: New Comer".
