The Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre (S2BMRC) team member Choi Wai (Maggie) Chak was awarded the title of "Doctor of Philosophy, with all the rights, privileges and duties that go with it".

During her academic career, Maggie has always been interested in the topics of technologies and innovation that drive health and societal advancements. She is passionate about enabling health and social care research and fostering science-society collaboration. Therefore, her doctoral study completely fits with her passion because she investigated how to improve the performance of Community-Academic Health Partnerships in German-speaking areas.

In addition to her PhD, Maggie was assigned to research projects at S2BMRC. She was the project manager of the Erasmus+ project " Pioneering Innovating Food for Seniors" and created a Change Lab at FH Münster - an innovative learning platform. Moreover, she is teaching students at the Research seminar in the Master Programme International Marketing and Sales and Digital Business and Innovation Management, and was also responsible for several semester projects with Master's and Bachelor's students.

The public defence took place on Wednesday 23th November at the University of Twente and was streamed on Vimeo.

The title of her PhD Thesis reads: "Towards Highly Performing Community-Academic Health Partnerships".

Supervisors in the PhD has been:

  • Prof. Dr. Celeste Wilderom from the Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences (BMS) at the University of Twente, The Netherlands;
  • Prof. Dr. Thorsten Kliewe from the Münster School of Business, FH Münster University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Lara Carminati from the Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences (BMS) at the University of Twente, The Netherlands.

Maggie has chosen her friends Dr. Eva Sormani and Dr. Sin Yu Bonnie Ho as Paranymphs for her defense.

Dr. Choi Wai Maggie Chak was awarded the academic title in a cooperative PhD procedure of the faculty of BMS (Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences) at the University of Twente and the MSB (Münster School of Business), FH Münster University of Applied Scieces.

For the next six months, Maggie will continue to work in the S2BMRS team.
