Science to Business Marketing Research Centre (S2BMRC) intern team member Matías Eduardo Escanilla participated in the Pride Innovation Challenge 2022 in Hamburg, Germany. The PRIDE Innovation Challenge, powered by Deloitte, started with a large PRIDE Networking & Inspiration Event, where up to 100 participants exchanged ideas and were inspired. A highlight was the international keynote speakers from the LGBTQ+ community, who reported on their experiences and topics that move and create awareness: to promote a more responsible society that guarantees transparency, fairness, and objectivity and is free of discrimination.
The themes of the challenge were:
- LGBTQ+ in the workplace: HR Processes and visibility and education in the work environment
- Awareness, trust, and mental health: Authentic-self, Coming-out, and Trans-journey
- Dealing with discrimination and (gender) stereotyping: Raising awareness in society, dealing with negative comments or discrimination, and how to become an ally
The contents of the challenge provided him with more inputs for his bachelor thesis, "The Relationship between LGBTQIA+ Marketing and IHRM Policies in MNE".
Matías Eduardo Escanilla, as part of the PRIDE Innovation Challenge, received methodical tools in the Design Sprint from The Garage and Doblin - Deloitte's innovation experts. For Deloitte, innovation is user-centered and guided by strategic goals. Deloitte believes that new developments and innovations thrive on mutual exchange.
