For four days, Dr Henry Shi from ECIC at The University of Adelaide (UA), Australia, visited our research centre at the invitation of Dr Iulia Stroila. During his stay he advised our PhD candidates and conducted a workshop on "Navigating the Publishing Process: Theoretical Contributions, Key Findings and Recommendations". His visit focused on developing further research opportunities between S2BMRC and the ECIC at The University of Adelaide. A new joint research proposal was also finalised and successfully submitted.

The cooperation between S2BMRC and ECIC started in 2003 with a 15-month research stay of Prof. Baaken in Adelaide and the cooperative PhD completion of Dr. Carolin Plewa, now Professor in Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of Graduate Studies at UA. This visit thus consistently ranks among a multitude of actions of cooperation.

Dr Henry Shi is a senior lecturer in entrepreneurship and family enterprise at the Entrepreneurship Commercialisation and Innovation Centre (ECIC) - Adelaide Business School of The University of Adelaide. He is also the Director of the Bachelor of International Business Program and Deputy Director of the Family Business Education and Research Group. Henry earned a PhD in Management from the University of Auckland, a Master of International Business from the University of Melbourne, and an advanced teaching qualification from the University of British Columbia. Before moving to Adelaide, Henry held academic positions with the University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology, and a post-doctoral fellowship at the New Zealand Asia Institute of the University of Auckland.

Furthermore, Dr. Shi welcomed the opportunity to participate in a presentation of a student semester project for the company egeplast International GmbH in Greven. Master and Bachelor students worked together on market entry and expansion strategies for new markets in Europe.

"I have clearly seen the fruits of engagement between university and business, which I believe is a fundamental goal of research and teaching. We as The University of Adelaide have also recently been moving more in this direction. In fact, it's being called for by the government. I have seen a best practice case here from which I will take a lot of inspiration back to Australia."

Thank you to Dr Henry Shi for visiting and sharing your insights.
