The "AfM Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Marketing" is the association of professors of marketing at German Universities of Applied Sciences. Specialist conferences are organised annually at different locations in order to promote the exchange between marketing academics on future trends and topics. Working groups on specific marketing issues also meet several times a year. Professor Baaken e.g. chaired the "B2B Marketing" working group from 2004 to 2016.

The 2024 AfM Conference took place at the "HTW Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft" Berlin 6.-8. June.

This year's focus is "Artificial intelligence in marketing". Companies such as Microsoft, Spotify, RTL Germany and others reported on their experiences with AI. Thomas Baaken's video on "Science!Fiction! The university of Applied Sciences in 2050", positioned as some steep future theses in 15 min. fits the conferences exactly. The video by Thomas Baaken contributed as an add-on to the AfM Conference HTW Berlin 2024. The QR-Code and Link have been distributed during its sessions on AI in Marketing and Market Research.
