14 October 2024 | Münster

On 9th October, the event "Zusammen Nachhaltig" (engl.: Together for sustainability) took place at FH Münster University of Applied Sciences. Organised as part of the university's efforts to foster sustainable initiatives, the event brought together stakeholders from diverse fields and disciplines to explore collaborative approaches to climate protection and sustainability. During the event, Judith Helmer, Research Associate at the Science-to-Marketing Research Centre (S2MRC), and Timo Adiek from Transfer Agency TAFH had the opportunity to present their project "Blueprint for Impact". After a short impulse presentation on the project's aims and outputs, participants came together at BarCamp to ideate on different sustainability topics and explore innovative ideas and sustainable solutions.

The event "Zusammen Nachhaltig"

The event "Zusammen nachhaltig" (engl.: Together for sustainability) was designed as a platform to inspire and support collaborations among different sustainability initiatives and projects. A such, it marks an important part in the broader agenda on climate protection and sustainability at FH Münster. The event aims at providing interesting impulse presentations as well at fostering discussions and co-creation to address sustainability challenges. After the first impulse given by the FH Climate Protection Manager Christopher Sabotke, Judith Helmer and Timo Adiek were invited to give the second impulse and present the "Blueprint for Impact" project.
Timo Adiek and Judith Helmer presenting the goals of Blueprint for Impact: (1) Mapping the complex ecosystem of sustainability initiatives at FH Münster, (2) creating a blueprint to facilitate interdisciplinary teaching formats, and (3) piloting the blueprint in the lighthouse project, the Social Entrepreneurship School.

Blueprint for Impact

The project "Blueprint for Impact" started in May 2024 under the slogan "Shaping change collaboratively for greater impact". The project is funded through Wandelfonds at FH Münster, a funding initiative by Wandelwerk at FH Münster to drive innovative, high-quality projects related to higher education. As such, it aims to tackle the following challenges: (1) creating more synergies between sustainability initiatives in the complex ecosystem of FH Münster and Münsterland and (2) overcoming obstacles in interdisciplinary teaching formats especially for teaching subjects such as "sustainable entrepreneurship".

Based on insights from two research projects executed from May to July this year, the team developed (1) a prototype of an interactive digital platform for mapping sustainability initiatives as well as (2) a conceptual understanding of interdisciplinary teaching for sustainable entrepreneurship. In the next step, the project will clarify the details of the interactive platform to implement it at the beginning of next year. Moreover, it will pilot the teaching concept in the lighthouse project - the Social Entrepreneurship School. The next edition of the Social Entrepreneurship School, organized by Timo Adiek and his team, will see over 100 students participating, with new partnerships emerging, including collaborations with the City of Münster, B-Side, and Comuneo.

After a short impulse presentation about the project, the participants were invited to contribute their ideas in the interactive BarCamp session. The team at Blueprint for Impact was happy to see many FH Münster colleagues contribute their perspectives to develop a valuable platform for more collaborative efforts towards sustainability.

Co-creation guiding our way in Blueprint for Impact

We extend our thanks to the organisers of "Zusammen Nachhaltig", Prof. Dr. Isabella Franzen-Reuter and Friederike Krüerke, for giving us the opportunity to present "Blueprint for Impact". We are also grateful to the many dedicated colleagues from FH Münster who actively contributed to the project by participating in the interviews during our research phase and engaging with us during the BarCamp.

We look forward to the next steps in this exciting journey towards creating greater impact together! Stay up to date with Blueprint by visiting our website here:
