The news came somewhat unexpectedly. This makes its content all the more gratifying: the nomination of our founder and long-standing General Manager Professor Thomas Baaken as a potential final winner of the 2025 TechPipeline Impact Award in one of the six categories, namely "Excellence in Community Contribution":
"After several months of collecting nominations and evaluating submissions, we will be announcing the winners for the 2025 TechPipeline Impact Awards on March 2nd during a reception at the AUTM conference in Washington DC. Because of your clear commitment to the technology transfer profession, you were nominated by our selection committee for one of our Impact Award categories. We greatly appreciate the efforts of your community for proposing and submitting you, and you for your dedication and innovativeness to improve the technology transfer community."
Quote from the website: The award category "Excellence in Community Contribution" recognizes individuals who extend a helping and supportive hand beyond their institution and across the technology transfer industry. These individuals organize conference panels, host webinars, and regularly lend their experience and expertise to help solve challenges in the profession. These individuals see the value in sharing ideas and expertise to "raise all boats" across the tech transfer community.
TechPipeline is the successor organization to "Tech Transfer Central", which has been a key resource for the tech transfer community, providing information, news, products, and services for technology transfer and intellectual property professionals. AUTM itself celebrates its 50th birthday with the event.
Even though Thomas won't be able fly to Washington DC, we are proud of this achievement.
