Thomas Baaken served as a key note speaker at the German Federal Deans Conference. The conference on invitation was attended by some 60 deans from all over Germany. The Federal Deans' Conference (BundesDekaneKonferenz Wirtschaftswissenschaften) is an association of the departments and faculties of economics, management and business administration at Universities of Applied Sciences in the Federal Republic of Germany. Two focal points characterise the activities of the Federal Deans' Conference on Economics: The conferences deal with trend-setting topics and questions from current and future areas of responsibility of the deaneries and university management. The Bielefeld conference was dedicated to challenges in Knowledge Transfer, UBC and the Third Mission of Universities. The Key Note had two elements: 1 the business model and its unique peculiarities in the context of a University of Applied Sciences as well as 2 the dedication and content of the Centre itself: University Business Cooperation, Science Marketing and Third Mission. Thomas was prepared to allow a view into internals of the Institut and its financial sources and business strategy. Also the presentation of the S2BMRC's lecturing approach of involving students into companies' projects, its studies "The State of University Business Cooperation" and "European Start up Hubs" and other activities provided for high attention in the audience and led to intense discussions. A most positive feedback assured some take always for every single participant.
