Our team members Elina Isakova and Nelli Scharapow hosted impactful workshops at this year's Women's* Empowerment Convention 2025 as part of the WE.Lead Academy for the BMBF project WE.Lead. The event provided a crucial space to bridge research and practice, focusing on women's entrepreneurship and corporate diversity.
The workshops addressed the persistent narrative that women entrepreneurs simply need more skills, confidence, and hard work to succeed. Through engaging discussions and practical activities, participants explored whether entrepreneurship is truly meritocratic and what systemic changes are needed to create fairer, more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems. The sessions also investigated why diversity efforts in companies often fall short, how unconscious biases affect workplace inclusion, and how the "New Work" movement can open new pathways to strengthen diversity in organizations.
We were delighted to welcome a diverse audience, including corporate employees, women in leadership positions, entrepreneurial ecosystem actors, and women in academia - demonstrating that gender equality challenges persist across all sectors. With over 40 participants in our workshop and over 300 attendees at the overall event, the WE.Lead Academy significantly enhanced the visibility of our project and its mission.
A huge thank you to all who joined and contributed to the discussions! We look forward to continuing our work towards creating truly inclusive environments in entrepreneurship and leadership.
