Nelli Scharapow experienced exciting days full of exchange, inspiration, and new impulses in Berlin.
Our colleague attended the conference Fachtagung "Innovativ - Exzellent - Sichtbar" by Metavorhaben "Innovative Frauen im Fokus" (meta-IFiF) and presented our research project We.Lead (funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)), which is committed to creating inclusive structures within organizations and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. What was particularly valuable: There was time for discussion and questions, and the high level of interest showed just how many people are passionate about this topic.
The conference once again made it clear: Visibility does not happen on its own, it requires courage, targeted support, and people who lift others up. It also highlighted how crucial the exchange between science, business, and media is. Only through open dialogue can new perspectives and pathways emerge to make innovative women more visible. In particular, the field of artificial intelligence still requires significant action when it comes to gender equity. All the more inspiring were the best-practice examples from companies, universities, and startups, which demonstrated that change is possible, if you tackle it with determination.
For us, it's clear that we want to continue shaping this path. This means strengthening networks, learning from one another, and taking action, even when everything isn't perfect yet. Taking responsibility and making your own contribution visible is the most important step.
