S2BMRC team Elina Isakova visited the  Gender, Work & Organization Conference (GWO) which was hosted for the first time on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada by Cape Breton University's Shannon School of Business. The conference theme was "Imagining Decolonizing Knowledge Exchanges: Embracing the JEDDII Way (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Decolonization, Inclusion & Indigenization)".

The conference was held in the Membertou area, a region recognized as Mi'gma'gi (Mi'kma'ki), the traditional territory of the Indigenous Mi'kmaq people. This setting provided a unique and enriching context for the discussions on diversity and inclusion.

During the GWO Conference Elina Isakova presented her ongoing research, co-authored with Dr. Iulia Stroila, which is part of the WE.Lead project granted from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). One of the aims of WE.Lead project is to explore and enhance inclusivity within entrepreneurial ecosystems, focusing on creating environments that support diverse entrepreneurs.

Elina's participation in the GWO Conference was a valuable experience, offering insights into the multifaceted nature of diversity and inclusion. By engaging with different perspectives and approaches to entrepreneurship. This experience not only contributed to her ongoing research but also highlighted the importance of integrating diverse viewpoints to foster innovation and inclusivity in entrepreneurial ecosystems research.
