The S2I predominantly focuses on disruptive innovations. Against this backdrop, PhD projects within this group take on a static (business model) as well a dynamic (process) perspective. Therefore, research aims at developing respective business model patterns to equip business managers with guidance to survive or even prosper in the face of disruption as well as giving advice to corresponding companies on the impact and pursuit of a disruptive path. In this context, the organizational structure is crucial for implementing innovative business models (Zahra, 1996; Corbett et al., 2013), which is why Corporate Venturing (CV) depicts the third overarching research silo. The research is conducted by means of qualitative cross-industry interviews, quantitative studies, and focus groups with experts from various disciplines.
