Degree programmes at FH Münster University of Applied Sciences

FH Münster University of Applied Sciences offers over 70 Bachelor and Master's programmes. Prospective students can choose between various subject areas: Design (Architecture, Design), Health and Social Work, Engineering, Business Administration and Teacher Training (teachers for vocational colleges).


Applications and admission

Those wishing to study at FH Münster University of Applied Sciences must apply for a place. Each degree programme has its own conditions concerning German language skills and previous qualifications, for example. In some cases, applicants must also have completed an internship before starting university or have passed an aptitude test.

International prospective students who do not come from an EU Member State, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and who do not have a German qualification for admission to higher education will find all the information they need here:


Becoming a guest auditor

You should become an guest auditor if you wish to "get a taste" of certain lectures. As an guest auditor, you are not permitted to take examinations. On the other hand, however, no qualification for admission to higher education is required. But notice in most cases you need to have German language skills at an intermediate level. The most degree programmes are held in German only.

Guest auditors who wish to attend individual courses are admitted by the Student Registry within the available study options. Applications must refer to specific courses, since the faculty concerned has to give its approval.

Application periods:
1 - 31 March for the summer semester
1 - 30 September for the winter semester

Pursuant to § 52 section 3 of the Higher Education Act (HG), a fee of € 100.00 per semester is waived for refugees at FH Münster University of Applied Sciences.


Language skills

Most degree programmes at FH Münster University of Applied Sciences are held in German only. It is therefore essential for you to learn the language if you wish to study and live in Germany. If you are looking for a language course, we may have the right course for you.


Costs and financing

Higher education is not only hard work, it also costs money. Although FH Münster University of Applied Sciences does not charge tuition fees, students are required to pay a semester fee, costing around € 300 each semester. Students must also cover their living expenses, such as for accommodation and food (€ 670-800).
