Becoming a cross-registered student

This status entitles students to visit specific courses and take certain examinations (so-called minor cross-registered students). Applications for admission must be submitted to the Service Office for Students. Students must list the courses they wish to take in the application since the faculty concerned has to give its approval. Pursuant to § 52 section 1 of the Higher Education Act (HG), a fee of € 100.00 per semester is charged for minor cross-registered students.

Application periods:
1 - 31 March for the summer semester
1 - 30 September for the winter semester

Becoming a guest auditor

You should become an guest auditor if you wish to "get a taste" of certain lectures. As an guest auditor, you are not permitted to take examinations. On the other hand, however, no qualification for admission to higher education is required.

Guest auditors who wish to attend individual courses are admitted by the Student Registry within the available study options. Applications must refer to specific courses, since the faculty concerned has to give its approval.

Application periods:
1 - 31 March for the summer semester
1 - 30 September for the winter semester

Applicants do not require a qualification for admission to universities of applied sciences. Guest auditors are not entitled to take examinations.

Pursuant to § 52 section 3 of the Higher Education Act (HG), a fee of € 100.00 per semester is charged for occasional students.
