If you are engaged in the building trade or have completed a relevant apprenticeship, you can enhance your professional profile by taking our degree programme in Construction Site Management.

Objectives

After completing the part-time degree programme, you will be able to undertake construction management independently. You will have the technical skills and application-oriented expertise to be a successful construction site manager.

Occupational fields

Engineering firms and agencies are also potential employers. Last but not least, you can also become a self-employed service provider after graduating.

Content and course sequence

You will study Construction Site Management while working – during 40 periods of mandatory attendance altogether, which you will complete within the space of four years, or eight semesters. Each one-week period of mandatory attendance comprises 48 teaching units, most of which are held at construction industry training centres in Essen and Kerpen. Your employer will release you from work for these periods for a maximum of ten weeks per year.

As far as content is concerned, you will initially explore engineering foundations during the programme. You will then enhance your knowledge in areas such as construction site management, constructional process engineering and bid preparation, construction management, controlling and project management. The field trips and project work involved will enable you to pursue practice-relevant studies. You will be taught by professors, part-time lecturers from various building companies, and external part-time lecturers.
