Graduation scholarships

The aim of graduation scholarships is to enable international students with good academic achievements to complete their degree without having to worry about financial problems.

The scholarships are awarded in accordance with the guidelines of the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst / DAAD), funded by the Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt / AA).

The total amount of one scholarship in 2025 is maximum € 1,500.

Funding is aimed at international students in the key final stage of their studies.

Students can only be given financial support if they are writing their final thesis in Germany.

The period and amount of the scholarship depend on the amount of funding available.

After the closing date for applications, the International Office will automatically notify you whether your application has been successful.

You can apply if your graduation can be expected within the next 12 months.

3. Certificate of matriculation 
4. Current overview of grades achieved
5. Letter of recommendation (see download box below)
6. Bank statements from the last two months
7. if available: thesis registration
