The first issue of "Spanning boundaries" magazine is officially out. The magazine is one of the key outputs of the "Spanning Boundaries Development Project", which is funded through the European Commission's Knowledge Alliance program.

The magazine is the first of its kind devoted to the unique experiences of academics and practitioners who are pushing cognitive, cultural and institutional boundaries in order to explore novel and exciting opportunities, forge relationships and ultimately propel their respective institutions to greater success.

This first issue features a captivating piece form Professor Thomas Baaken, of the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre (S2BMRC), who makes a self-reflection about his boundary spanning predispositions based on the five qualities of Walter Gropius: civil courage, resilience, visionary, enthusiasm and fun/humour/celebration.

In addition to the individual boundary spanning agents, the magazine also takes a closer look at organizations and specific departmental units that foster cooperation and nurture boundary spanning initiatives. In this regard, the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre (S2BMRC) of FH Münster has been featured as one of the exemplary cases.

The "Spanning Boundaries Development" project team is therefore delighted to cordially invite you to freely download the magazine and draw some inspiration from the compelling stories of spanning boundaries agents covered in this issue.
