Eight dissertation projects, in which individual issues are intensively considered, have been submitted within the framework of the `RessourcenKolleg.NRW´. These proposals focus initially on the recovery of the metal and plastic secondary raw materials from various waste flows since metals and plastics are of particular importance due to their economically strategic relevance and their quantities.
The dissertation projects cover the entire processing chain ending in the reintroduction of secondary raw materials into the economic circuit. There is intense subject-specific interconnection among the various projects. The specialist exchange in the graduate school guarantees interdisciplinary collaboration among the PhD students and encourages the development of integrated solution concepts. The insights gained in the course of the projects enable the transfer to other material flows, so that the long-term perspective of the `RessourcenKolleg.NRW´ is guaranteed.
